Finally Friday (Easter Favors and/or Treat Holders) with Michelle McDaniel

What fun to make special treat favors for Easter! Today we are showcasing our stamp creations designed to hold those sweet Easter goodies.  Michelle McDaniel is leading this challenge on the Savvy Projects blog, so be sure to see what she has shown us.

I created an Easter basket from a 6"x6" square of Emma SWIC printed paper.

Here is a tutorial for construction this little basket.  (This same pattern works for the Easter Basket Bonanza basket I did last Friday on the blog hop, except in that one I used a 12x12 piece of cardstock, and therefore the basket was larger).

Score a 6x6" piece of double-sided cardstock (I used Emma) every 2" in both directions.

Cut into the center on two sides of the middle panel on each side, as pictured.

Make a pointed tip of the middle section that was cut.

Then cut the side panels into three strips each, stopping at the center.  I did not measure but just estimated a third of the section when I cut.

Now you are ready to fold the strips to meet in the center, using Scor-tape or a strong adhesive.  Leave the pointed center on the outside to glue last.

Add a 1/2 or 3/4" by 7" handle to each side of the basket with brads, and fill it with grass and candy.  I also added a stamped image on the front from T3304 Easter Bunny and a saying from R2041 Hoppity Skippity. I punched them out with an Oval Punch and matted them on a piece of cardstock punch from the Scallopped Oval Circle.

I can't wait to see what treat holder you link to show what you do with Easter favors.
